What I handle on your behalf
From daily bookkeeping through to year-end accounts and CIS returns, I take care of the paperwork so you do not have to.
Self Assessment Tax Returns
If you work as a sole trader or take income outside of PAYE, you need to file a Self Assessment return with HMRC each year. I handle yours from start to finish, claim every allowance you are entitled to, and file well before the 31 January deadline. You tell me what you earned and spent, and I take it from there.
Sole traders and subcontractorsBookkeeping and Year-End Accounts
Keeping your records straight throughout the year means no last-minute panic and no missed deductions. I handle your day-to-day bookkeeping, bank reconciliation and year-end accounts, whether you are a sole trader or a limited company. Everything is kept clean and ready for HMRC at any point.
Ongoing or annualCIS Returns and Subcontractor Records
If you work under the Construction Industry Scheme as a subcontractor, you need monthly CIS returns filed correctly with HMRC. I handle your CIS deductions, verify your records and make sure your submissions go in on time. From April 2026, nil returns must also be filed for months with no payments, and I will take care of that too.
Builders, plumbers, electricians and moreWhy clients come back every year
Tradespeople stay with me because the service is straightforward, the price stays fixed and nothing falls through the cracks.
You always deal with David directly
There are no juniors, no call centres and no handoffs to someone who does not know your situation. When you message or call, you get me. That matters when you have a question about a job, a receipt, or a deadline coming up.
A fixed price agreed upfront
I give you a fixed quote before we start, so you know exactly what you will pay. There are no hourly billing surprises and no invoice you did not expect at the end of the year. Sole trader packages start from £150 plus VAT per month.
25 years of real business experience
Before I qualified as an accountant, I spent over 25 years running businesses in the real world. I understand the cash flow pressure of project-based work, the cost of materials and tools, and what it feels like to juggle jobs and admin at the same time. I am not just someone who studied numbers from a textbook.
How it works
Getting started takes one call, and most tradespeople have everything sorted within a week.
Book a free call
Pick a time that suits you and we will have a short call, usually 20 to 30 minutes. No preparation needed on your part. Just tell me where you are at and what you need help with.
I review your situation
After the call, I will look at what you have got, what is missing and what needs to be done. Whether you have a shoebox of receipts or nothing filed for two years, I will tell you exactly where things stand.
You get a fixed price quote
I give you a clear, written quote for the work. No vague estimates and nothing open-ended. You decide whether to go ahead with no obligation.
I take care of everything
Once you are on board, I handle your accounts, filings and HMRC correspondence. I keep you updated at each stage and respond to questions the same day.
