Quarterly MTD Submissions

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax requires quarterly digital updates sent directly to HMRC. I prepare and submit these on your behalf, on time, every time. You get a plain-English summary of what was filed and what it means for your tax position.

03

VAT Returns Under MTD

Since April 2022, all VAT-registered businesses must keep digital records and submit through MTD-compatible software. I manage your VAT returns under Making Tax Digital, advise on the right scheme for your situation, and file every quarter without you having to think about it.

WHY IT WORKS

Why clients come back every year

It comes down to three things: you always know where you stand, you always deal with me directly, and you never get a bill you did not expect.

You speak to me, not a junior

Every question you have about Making Tax Digital goes straight to me. I have over 25 years of real business experience before I qualified as an accountant, so I understand what it actually feels like to run a small business and face a wall of HMRC paperwork. You get honest answers in plain English, not corporate boilerplate.

Fixed prices, agreed before we start

I give you a fixed price before any work begins. You know exactly what you are paying for MTD bookkeeping, quarterly submissions, or your VAT returns. There are no add-on fees for a quick question or an extra email.

Same-day responses when it matters

MTD compliance has real deadlines. When you message me with a question, you hear back the same day. Clients who have used accountants who take days to reply consistently say this alone is worth switching for.

GETTING STARTED

How it works

Getting your Making Tax Digital accounting sorted is a straightforward four-step process, and I walk you through every part of it.

01

Book a free call

We spend 20 to 30 minutes on the phone going over your current situation. I find out whether MTD already applies to you, when it will, and what your records look like right now. No preparation needed on your end.

02

I review your records and confirm a fixed price

After the call I put together a fixed quote covering exactly what needs to be done. Whether that is a full MTD bookkeeping setup, quarterly submission management, or VAT returns, you see the price before anything starts.

03

We set up your MTD-compliant system

I get your digital records into an MTD-compatible format, link your accounts, and make sure everything HMRC expects is in place. If your records are currently a spreadsheet or a shoebox, that is fine. I have seen it all and I sort it out without judgement.

04

I keep everything filed and on track

From that point forward I handle your quarterly updates, VAT returns, and year-end figures. You get a message from me before each submission and a plain-English summary after. Deadlines are never missed.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Common questions

If your business is VAT registered, you have been required to comply with MTD since April 2022. For sole traders and landlords with income over £50,000, MTD for Income Tax is mandatory from April 2026. The threshold drops to £30,000 from April 2027, and to £20,000 from April 2028. If you are unsure which category you fall into, book a free call and I will confirm your position straight away.
That is more common than you think and it is nothing to be ashamed of. I work with sole traders and landlords who have been managing on spreadsheets or paper for years. I sort the records out, get everything into a compliant format, and make sure you are up to date before your first submission. You do not need to have everything perfect before you call me.
HMRC requires MTD-compatible software for keeping digital records and submitting quarterly updates. There are several approved options and the right one depends on your business type and how you currently manage your finances. I advise on which software fits your situation and handle the setup so you are not figuring it out alone.
HMRC has a points-based penalty system for late MTD submissions. Miss enough quarterly updates and you will receive a financial penalty. The good news is that once I am managing your submissions, deadlines are handled as a matter of routine. Same-day responses mean that if anything urgent comes up, you will always hear from me in time to act.
